[ It's a hot Friday afternoon in June, and there's nothing particularly unusual going on in the clubroom today.

... which isn't much of an introduction, but it's the truth.

and of course, you can bet your behinds that Prez isn't going to have this. She lets the usual chatter stretch out for a little while before finally taking her place at the head of the room and slapping a hand down on the teacher's podium. ]

SORRY MINAKO, SHE HAS REALLY HARD HOMEWORK AND EVEN HER TURTLE FRIEND TOMOSUKE ISN'T HELPING VERY MUCH.]

Outside the meeting

[So it turned out Nurse Peebs only wanted to remind Osaka about her next appointment, and suggesting she write it down only killed a minute or so. Still, Souji's not sure it's safe to allow free radicals back into whatever the hell was going on in the clubroom, and besides, he ought to catch up with Osaka more often.]

So...what's this about dinosaurs and unicorns?

[Aw yeah, appointments. She would probably forget if she doesn't write that down, so she takes Souji's advice and puts pen to paper.]

Huh? Oh, they popped up in Miss Bubblegum's office after she gave me some juice!

[ and here's a prez who's evidently making her escape from the complete and utter shitshow that's going on in the clubroom. ]

Yo, Osaka! An' Souji-kun.

[ she sounds almost disproportionally relieved to be chattering with them both

seriously, she is not trained for love problems. ]

Also Outside the Meeting

[Hiroshi is pretty sure the club is intended to INVESTIGATE paranormal phenomenon, not instigate it. Either way, Alice looked pretty upset about... whatever that was in there, and so he tracks her down.]

Alice.

[He waves her down a bit.]

Are you okay? You seemed rather flustered by the whole thing.

[Alice is a small distance down the hallway, sitting against the wall. Taking a moment to get her shit together. She looks up at Hiroshi's call, and sighs at his question.]

This whole thing is completely ridiculous. She's lying about Nui, you know.

[Hiroshi sighs.]

She has been boy-crazy as long as I can remember. I would have been rather surprised if she had been truthful. But do you know why she would have put on such a ridiculous show?

[Maria has been mysteriously quiet for most of the meeting, bent over a science worksheet as she is. Her teacher had told her that one more missing homework and she'd be calling Maria's mama--and Maria really didn't want her teacher to call Mama. So even though she'd much rather be having fun with her friends--they'd been so lively, she could hear them--Maria was working very hard to fill out her worksheet on plate tectonics.

There was a picture of all the plates and a list of names to match up with the plates and Maria had with great effort figured out at least half of them, but the other half had silly names like Cocos and Scotia and try as she might, Maria couldn't imagine which ones they'd match up to.]

Do you know which ones they are? [With help, the stuffed turtle shakes his head.] Not a clue! [Maria sighs.] Maria will just have to ask one of the others.

[She scans her crowd of older friends. They were all bigger than her, so probably any of them would know enough to help her. So which one?]

OSAKA! MARIA NEEDS HELP!

[ohmygah]

[Osaka was enjoying a bit of a nap for a while. But the call of the Maria can only mean immediate friendship attention.

But she's also really tired. What a predicament. Clearly she needs to find someway to wake herself up quickly without wasting any time getting to Maria.

She edges herself to the side of the desk before she collapses to the ground. With that done, she rolls down the aisle to Maria's location. She had hoped that this would be enough to wake her up.]

[ohmygah]

[As it turned out, whamming her head against the legs of one of the desks also helped.]

GAH!

[She recoils in pain and overshoots her goal of the desk next to Maria. Passing said child, she manages to get a grip on the other neighboring desk and pulls herself to a stop.]

[And with that said and done, she lifts herself into the seat and smiles at Maria. Rubbing her head a little.]

Whatcha need, Maria-chan?
