June 11, 1999 -- After School

[Friday. A simple time when people are rushing more rambunctiously out the doors and are more likely to leave them ajar should somebody who doesn't attend insist on entering the school building. Clicking heels ring through the halls and soon enough Haruhi's abandoned classroom radar goes off.

Currently her heels hover a few inches above the floor as she's leaned forward to slam the table with all her might, eyes watering from the dust pushed into the air.]

What do you MEAN they still haven't given you guys' club official recognition? This is head and shoulders above some of the other so-called activities! You have a calligraphy club at this school, don't you? All they do is write.

Who does a person have to talk with around here for some justice?

[Turning her head from person to person with expectant glares. A gentler glare for Maria by a slim margin]

[And although using this time to nap is great, Osaka can't help but feel that nap clubs aren't endorsed by the school system. They should though. No wait, they should have a naptime instead. She'd ace that.]

I know, right? What gives?! Just because we don't play baseball or swim or anything, that means we're not an official club?

To be fair, most of the time we just sort of hang out and play games anyway.

'cuz mostly all we do is sit around in an empty classroom and apparently, we don't need a proper budget or resources too do that.

[ said in the very tired voice of a girl who has tried a whole lot to remedy this and has pretty much given up on it by this point ]

Well, it doesn't really matter much if a club is official here. We have more classrooms than clubs, and nobody's bothered by us just hanging out.

[Having the Student Council President in the group probably helps keep any overzealous rules lawyers away, now that he thinks about it.]

Okay in the teacher's office, Spender was grading Thursday's pop-quiz. To help encourage him, the latest chapter of One Piece was hidden at the bottom of the pile of quizzes.]

Being official means that we'd have to do stuff for the school, anyway. That'd suck all the fun out of it.
