June 11, 1999 -- After School

[Friday. A simple time when people are rushing more rambunctiously out the doors and are more likely to leave them ajar should somebody who doesn't attend insist on entering the school building. Clicking heels ring through the halls and soon enough Haruhi's abandoned classroom radar goes off.

Currently her heels hover a few inches above the floor as she's leaned forward to slam the table with all her might, eyes watering from the dust pushed into the air.]

What do you MEAN they still haven't given you guys' club official recognition? This is head and shoulders above some of the other so-called activities! You have a calligraphy club at this school, don't you? All they do is write.

Who does a person have to talk with around here for some justice?

[Turning her head from person to person with expectant glares. A gentler glare for Maria by a slim margin]

What we're trying to ask is what it'd take to make the Supernatural Investigation Club official.

[The advantage of being a tallish guy in a club full of girls is that he can make himself heard from behind half of them.]

[He sounds more surprised than anything. He also sounds like he's just...not going to worry too much about being on TV.]

We were ruled to be a waste of school resources, because all we do is sit around after school.

There's not a lot of teachers willing to sponsor something cutting-edge like paranormal investigation, either.

If we had the cash, we could do a buncha stuff!

This is a serious problem. I don't know how they expect you to grow into well-balanced adults with such a narrow curriculum.

Uu! This school only teaches boring stuff! No magic at all! No ghosts!

And if we had ghost lessons and stuff, Maria could be really smart and stuff when she starts taking our classes! And then make ghost friends!

[She assumes that most teachers want little children to be smart and social.]

Uu! Maria would be good at ghost classes! Maria would have friends!

[Both things that are not normally part of Maria's life tbh, although now that she's been put under the club's watch, she's sort of got friends. Big kid friends.]

Keeping it to extracurriculars might be best, actually. But that's what the club is for.
