June 11th 1999 - After School
[ It's a hot Friday afternoon in June, and there's nothing particularly unusual going on in the clubroom today.
... which isn't much of an introduction, but it's the truth.
and of course, you can bet your behinds that Prez isn't going to have this. She lets the usual chatter stretch out for a little while before finally taking her place at the head of the room and slapping a hand down on the teacher's podium. ]
... alright! I--I'm callin' an official uh-- hearing...? -- m--meetin' to order! Y'hear me?

... Maria still needs to match the plate names to the plates, though.
[And all the easy ones are already matched. She's got stuff like Nazca and Scotia and Cocos left.]

Ehhh.... w-well... what kind of food does this area look like?
[Pointing at a random continent.]
no subject
Maybe a crepe with filling.
no subject
[Yes, sound logic.]
no subject
What about this one?
[Maria's pointing to the Australian-Indian Plate.]
It looks like a banana!
[She giggles.]
no subject
[She rubs her chin thoughtfully.]
Banana starts with b... and so does bank.... the Bank of Nova Scotia is a bank...
[She nods triumphantly.] Its gotta be Scotia!

Phillipines!

That one looks like a weenie that got cut off!
[She's pointing to the Caribbean plate.]
1/2
Ew, nasty...
no subject
Nasty... nazty... nazcy... NAZCA!
no subject
Really? I like weenies. Especially when they're cut into octopusses.
no subject
Er, yeah, I just don't like 'em cut up...

[Maria stares at her worksheet and frowns.]
Maria doesn't think any of the rest of the plates look like food.
no subject
...? What are you two working on?
no subject
[Maria holds up the worksheet, so Hiroshi can see all the wrong answers they've written down.]
no subject
Look, let me help. See, this goes here, and...
[He begins correcting her on, well, pretty much everything.]
no subject
... but those plates don't look anything like the foods the names match with.
no subject
Yeah, that doesn't connect to the facts, Hiroshi! Ya gotta use careful logic with tough stuff like plates.
no subject
[Besides moon logic.]
They are named after their LOCATIONS, not the food substances they resemble.

no subject
[Honestly, Hiroshi. What a jerk move.]

Y-yeah! And I think, uh, earthquakes happen when the plates touch each, right?
