Enemies lie everywhere - the sisters, no matter which side they take, they're out of the way for now. If there are still enemies to take care of, if she's still alive at the end of the night, she'll see if she needs to drag anything out from under their skins.
Four to go. Tomosuke's message had been clear. A turncoat twice over, no fit familiar for a witch. Even a treacherous witch.
With Maria's betrayal, there's really no time to waste. Can't check on the prince, if he's gone then that's just wasted time, if he's not then that's still wasted time, if he's taken a turn for the worse and died then too bad for him, Maya's reign'll just have to kick off with a tragic star-crossed romance, it's his fault for getting in the way.
Time, time - wires strung across doorways and stairwells, ancient crossbows dredged up from the basement, sharp stakes and slippery steps in strategic places, all the traps her wild ingenuity can summon into being, and, of course, a certain upgrade for the power of Venus, purchased with the help of papa's credit card.

Maya hears everything that Maria says. The princess and the prince, Space witch Venus, her crying. She hadn't even noticed that there were tears budding in her eyes until it was pointed out.
But the Minako is there, and she has a knife. She gets hold of Maria. No no no no. she can't do this. she can't let this happen.
But then Hiroshi is there. It's almost like he teleported, but he was between Maria and Minako. Maya saw red. A lot of it.

And what can Maya do? She's broken down, tears falling from her eyes, making a mess. So many people died to get here. All... because of her. It was her own fault. Because of her, Minako decided to kill her friends for a "good" cause.
Minako. She's right there. And Maya is looking right at her.]

[She takes a step towards her. And another, slow and steady.]

[ Something's wrong? ...Something's been wrong for the last few days. But what's been? ]

[ She sounds just as young as Maria, for a moment. Hiroshi's blood's still leaking out onto the front of her Venus robes. ]

[Maya's very quiet for the moment. This is all wrong. Everything's been wrong since that night in the forest.
She stands before her best friend. The scent of blood is strong in the air, and Maya's eyes were dead cold.]

No magic would change the fact that Minako killed for her.
Maya moves with a speed that can't be anticipated. She reaches out with both hands for... anything. Minako's neck looked like the right place. Sure. She didn't care where it was, she was just angry. And sad. Tears streamed down her cheeks.]
It's your fault...!! You... you killed everyone! It was all you! You murdered our friends, Minako....!!
[She squeezes. Hard.]

[ Didn't she try her best? She really did... it all turned out like this in the end and now everyone's dead and the princess is mad. Maya is mad, and in tears. Both of them are.
She can't breathe at all. Her instincts are to reach up and claw... but she's still Venus, still a good leap away from common sense and reality. As you wish, princess, and with all the strength of will she has, her hands stay right where they are, clenching the mass of dead weight that once was a prince and once was a friend. ]

Seven. She did it, in the end, didn't she? She saved the princess and beat them all, didn't she? Minako shudders, spasms as her body's instinct for survival kicks in. It's over. She's too weak to fight, after all. She did it, and she dies with her eyes full of tears and a twisted grimace of a smile on her face. ]

Though she was wrong. They weren't the evil. She was.
Maya wasn't happy about any of it.
Who knew when help would arrive. What would they find here? Dead teenagers, scattered around, disfigured by traps, and the murderer dead in her best friend's arms? Would they arrest her again on suspicious grounds? Could Mia get her out of this?
She could feel the life slowly leave Minako. It was only when she truly went limp that Maya's grip finally loosened. She was warm, but would grow cold with time. She lowered her down, knelt and cried into her old friend's shoulder.
This was the end. Despite the trials and tribulations, there would be no justice.]
