June 11, 1999 -- After School

[Friday. A simple time when people are rushing more rambunctiously out the doors and are more likely to leave them ajar should somebody who doesn't attend insist on entering the school building. Clicking heels ring through the halls and soon enough Haruhi's abandoned classroom radar goes off.

Currently her heels hover a few inches above the floor as she's leaned forward to slam the table with all her might, eyes watering from the dust pushed into the air.]

What do you MEAN they still haven't given you guys' club official recognition? This is head and shoulders above some of the other so-called activities! You have a calligraphy club at this school, don't you? All they do is write.

Who does a person have to talk with around here for some justice?

[Turning her head from person to person with expectant glares. A gentler glare for Maria by a slim margin]

We were ruled to be a waste of school resources, because all we do is sit around after school.

This is a serious problem. I don't know how they expect you to grow into well-balanced adults with such a narrow curriculum.

And if we had ghost lessons and stuff, Maria could be really smart and stuff when she starts taking our classes! And then make ghost friends!

[Both things that are not normally part of Maria's life tbh, although now that she's been put under the club's watch, she's sort of got friends. Big kid friends.]

So... if we went to check out that haunted beach, it would only be natural to dip into club funds for bathing suits, right?

That seems like it would count as an abuse of school funding to ME.

I'd rather call it a clever management of available resources.

I still feel as though our resources would be better put towards funding things whose fundamental reasoning is not "want to look good in the sun."

If you don't want a swimsuit, we can just take pictures of you and tell everyone we found a ghost.

Give it up and use your summer like a summer, if you don't get enough vitamins from the sun all your hair and teeth will fall out, you know!

Keeping it to extracurriculars might be best, actually. But that's what the club is for.
